| 1. Push the on/off switch forward and turn the temperature dial all the way to the +. |

| 2. Place the striker next to the wire mesh and strike. |
3. You should notice a red glow. The knife should be left in this position for about 30-45 seconds. |

| 4. Now, adjust the temperature all the way to the - sign. Continue to adjust the temperature as needed. |
5. To shut off the Hot Knife, place the cap on tightly and it will force the switch to the off position. |
